A bully punched an elderly man who refused to let him into the lobby of a Manhattan apartment building this weekend, authorities said.

The 79-year-old victim was in the lobby of his apartment building near East 23rd Street and Third Avenue in Gramercy Park shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday when a stranger asked him to open a door and let him in, the police said.

The elderly person refused to do so, leading to a violent fight that ended with a threatened punch in the face, police said.
