Bully hits elderly man who refused to let him into NYC building: cops
A bully punched an elderly man who refused to let him into the lobby of a Manhattan apartment building this weekend, authorities said.
The 79-year-old victim was in the lobby of his apartment building near East 23rd Street and Third Avenue in Gramercy Park shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday when a stranger asked him to open a door and let him in, the police said.
The elderly person refused to do so, leading to a violent fight that ended with a threatened punch in the face, police said.
The attacker then took off heading west on East 23rd Street.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to NYU Langone Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The attacker – seen in surveillance video released by the New York Police Department – was last seen wearing a fur hooded jacket, blue sweatpants and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
He was still at large on Thursday.
