He was a late substitute against Manchester United last weekend after taking a nasty fall into the advertising boards.
It is believed that a slight muscle problem kept him out of the squad.
Kai Havertz will lead the line with Leandro Trossard and Martinelli in each victory.
The Gunners know they have to win to give themselves any hope of winning the title.
Meanwhile, Jarrod Bowen is also missing for West Ham in their match against City at the Etihad Stadium.
