Do the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers have draft needs, or draft desires?

It’s looking a lot like the latter as Bruce Arians brings back all 22 Super Bowl starters from last season, including such players as quarterback Tom Brady (obviously), defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, linebacker Lavonte David, receiver Chris Godwin and more.

That said, there are plenty of veteran talents on Tampa Bay’s roster, and positional groups that could benefit from increased depth. After all, time and injuries eventually catch up to everybody, even Brady. Right?

With that, here’s everything you need to know about Tampa Bay’s 2021 NFL Draft picks:

Buccaneers NFL Draft needs

  • Defensive line: There is plenty of veteran talent along the defensive line in Suh and William Gholston, 34 and 29, respectively. Look for the Bucs to select some young talent to step in and eventually take over. Potential selections include Alabama’s Christian Barmore, Iowa’s Daviyon Nixon, and Washington’s Levi Orwuzurike.
  • Running back: Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II are the leaders of this position group, but neither provided much in the way of pass-catching in 2020. Alabama’s Najee Harris might be an improvement in that area, or Clemson’s Travis Etienne if the Bucs are looking for a more pronounced burst of speed.
