Golf fans are praising Bryson DeChambeau for reprimanding a man who stole a golf ball from a young child during the PGA Championship.
The 30-year-old, who came within one shot of Xander Schauffele for victory on Sunday, tossed his ball to a child standing against the rope as he walked to the No. 10 tee.
In a fan video posted on X, an adult was seen grabbing the ball before the child could catch it.
As he began to run away, DeChambeau turned and approached the group of fans.

‘Hey, hey, hey! Give that ball back,” he shouted, much to the delight of the other fans.
The man eventually complied, returning the golf ball to the delighted young fan.
“This is why Bryson is the man of the people,” one fan responded to the clip.
‘It’s awesome. A hero the child will remember forever,” added another.
A third person wrote: “Not many tour pros would do this. Congratulations Bryson! »
Another added: “Actions like this just make you smile and wish this guy much success.” He’s really good for the game right now.
The 30-year-old fell a stroke short of Xander Schauffele for victory at Kentucky on Sunday.
However, DeChambeau was quick to congratulate his rival on winning his first major championship.
DeChambeau was also praised for his sportsmanship after Schauffele won his first major championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
“That’s classy,” commentator Jim Nantz said on the CBS broadcast when the SMU alumnus was seen congratulating Schauffele on the victory.
“DeChambeau comes over and gives him a nod, a congratulatory handshake,” Nantz added.
He also addressed Schauffele at a press conference, telling reporters he was “proud of Alex for finally getting the job done.”
“I mean, he’s an incredible golfer and a well-deserved major champion now. He played well for a long, long time. I played against him as a junior. It’s cool to see him, not only is he a great human being, but he’s also an incredible golfer, and that’s showing this week. Super happy for him,” DeChambeau said.
