UFC president Dana White criticized the fighter Bryce Mitchell for praising Adolf Hitler, among a series of anti -Semitic, homophobic and transphobic comments, but said the organization would not take disciplinary measures against him.

Fighter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Mitchell said Hitler was a “good guy” and denied the holocaust in the first episode of his podcast, “Arkansanity”. Mitchell, 30, is ranked 13th in the featherweight division of the UFC.

“We contacted Bryce immediately when we read what he said, and let him know exactly what we thought,” White said at a press conference on Thursday.

“But what he said was beyond disgusting and he needs a real education on the facts surrounding Hitler and the Second World War.”

But, citing freedom of expression, White said that the UFC would not take disciplinary measures against the American.

“Hitler is one of the most disgusting human beings and the worst to have ever worked on earth, and whoever tries to take an opposite position is a moron,” said White.

“This is the problem with the Internet and social media. You provide a platform with many stupid and ignorant people.”

UFC journalist and combat sports broadcaster Ariel Helwani, who is Jewish, said that sport had reached a “new hollow”.

“Each day, the MMA finds a way to reach a new hollow,” said Helwani in an article on X. “A new way of embarrassing and those who are fans.

He added in another article: “Nothing will be done, and I don’t care even if something is done. Say what you want. It continues to confuse me how sport or associated with sport can be.”
