Bryan Kohberger Gives New Details About His Alibi

Bryan Kohberger‘s alibi should depend on his interest in stargazing.

Lawyers for the 29-year-old man — who was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary after the deaths of four University of Idaho students in November 2022 — submitted the April 17 legal documents detailing his alleged alibi for the night of their deaths.

Kohberger’s legal team, who pleaded not guilty last year, said that in the months before the murders of Kaylee Goncalves21, Madison Mogen21, Xana Noyaule20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, Kohberger often went on outdoor runs and hikes in and around Pullman, Washington, according to the document obtained by E! News.

However, in the fall of 2022, when Kohberger became busier with his classes and work at Washington State University, these outdoor activities often involved nighttime travel — something his legal team said it was when the students were killed in their apartment.

“Mr. Kohberger was driving early on the morning of November 13, 2022; as he often did to hike and run and/or see the moon and stars,” the filing states. “He covered the entire area south of Pullman, Washington, west of Moscow, Idaho, including Wawawai Park.”
