“ Brutal ”: one of the biggest fans of Elon Musk reacts to Tesla Sales Miss

It was not only analysts and investors of Wall Street who reacted with a shock to what extent Tesla’s quarterly sales were bad.

On Wednesday, Tesla’s online fans treated the puff of sales in real time on social networks.

Omar Qazi, better known under his online handle @wholemarsblog, is one of the most visible supporters of Elon Musk online and frequently interacts with the billionaire on X.

“Brutal”, wrote Qazi, who hosts a podcast focused on Tesla entitled “The Gigacast” with two other Tesla fans.

“I think these are the worst production and quarterly delivery numbers that I have ever seen for Tesla”, he Added.

Qazi said he “had not seen anyone projecting figures lower than we really saw”, and said in a later article that “Tesla sales cannot” return to growth this year as the company scheduled for January.

Tesla said the number of delivery of just under 336,700 electric vehicles for the first quarter on Wednesday, well below analysts’ expectations of around 390,300 deliveries. The figures have marked a drop in sales of 13% on the other and the worst quarterly deliveries of Tesla since 2022.

Qazi has attributed the drop in Tesla’s delivery to the loss of production of model Y – which the company also stressed in its report – and seemed to be disagreeing that Tesla figures had been negatively impacted by brand damage or anti -MUSC feeling.

“Did brand damage sequentially decrease the production of production of 97,000 units? Or was it stopping times in four best-selling products,” Qazi wrote in response to an article by analyst Gene Munster saying that the brand’s damage had cost 80,000 deliveries to Tesla.

Meanwhile, Tesla Bull Dan Ives partially blamed the reduction in sales of Musk’s impact on the brand. Ives wrote in an article on X in addition to refreshing problems, Tesla is struggling with a “brand crisis”.

“We knew that the deliveries of 1q Tesla would be soft, but these figures were bad,” wrote Ives. “We are not going to look at these figures with pink glasses … They were a disaster on each metric. Referring the problems but the brand’s crisis key. The time has come for musk … Fork in the road moment for Tesla.”

The longtime investor Ross Gerber, who recently changed his position in Bearsh, said on X that “the brand is broken and may not be repairable”, and added in a later post that “Tesla needs a real CEO”.

Tesla was mired in a political backlash since Musk played a role with Doge. The automaker was the target of a boycott and protest movement calling the owners of Tesla to sell their vehicles and their stocks. There have also been widespread vandalism incidents, some of the criminal fire and gunshots.

While Qazi seemed to disagree on Musk’s backlash damaged Tesla’s brand, he has echoed the feeling that the issues are raised for Tesla for the moment – and society must find a way to return to growth in its automotive activity.

“If Tesla cannot increase sales in 2025 with their best set of products, it is an epic marketing failure,” added Qazi in an article on X on the next launch of Tesla’s Robotaxi service, that Musk is expecting in June.

Tesla did not respond to a request for comments.

While Tesla’s shares fell approximately 4% following the results, the action rebounded more than 5% after Politico reported that President Donald Trump said to his inner circle that Musk would leave his role in the coming weeks. (The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, rejected history in an article on X and said that Musk would not leave until her work is finished.)

“Epic exchange for me. I love this,” said Qazi alongside a screenshot of the increase in Tesla’s actions.

Qazi, who did not immediately respond to a request for comments, seemed to soften his position on the sales report in the hours that followed the BI outfit.

“In fact, Tesla’s deliveries don’t look so bad when you dig a little,” wrote Qazi on X. “Tesla seems to have sold just about everything they could do in the first quarter.”
