The Cleveland Browns have signed K Andre Szmyt (Schmidt pronounced) and terminated the Ogbo Okoronkwo contract.
Szmyt (6-0, 200) is officially in its first NFL season in Syracuse. Originally signed by the Bears as a free agent not drafted in 2023, Szmyt spent part of the 2024 season on the Browns training team and was a member of the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL.
Okoronkwo joined the Browns as a free agent without restriction in 2023. He appeared in 30 games in the last two seasons and recorded 52 plated, 7.5 bags, a forced escape and an escaped recovery.
