Brittany Mahomes reacts after liking Donald Trump campaign post

Brittany Mahomes wrote a scathing Instagram post, calling her “haters” underdeveloped adults after she was criticized for recently liking a post from Donald Trump about his 2024 campaign platform.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s wife defended herself in an Instagram story Friday, about 10 days after she clicked the little red heart icon on Trump’s post.

“I mean honestly,” Mahomes wrote in the article. “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have deep-rooted issues that you’ve refused to heal since childhood.”

“There is no reason why your brain should be fully developed and you should hate to see others succeed.”

Mahomes, 28, made no reference to why the “haters” were chastising her, but the retaliation appears to follow criticism for supporting Trump’s social media post.

The August 13 Instagram post featured the “GOP 2024 platform,” which included expelling “pro-Hamas radicals” and banning “men from women’s sports.”

Mahomes’ social media account hasn’t received any criticism — indicating she may have deleted all the negative comments from her posts — but she has received plenty of backlash on X.

“Brittany Mahomes just revealed she supports Trump,” one person wrote.

“I don’t understand how people with kids can still vote for a child rapist or known criminal. I guess people like Brittany Mahomes would rather have tax cuts than child safety,” another said.

“Patrick Mahomes, imagine marrying someone who doesn’t care about your rights and your children’s rights. Brittany Mahomes agrees with Project 2025 but marrying a black man with mixed race children is crazy,” one message read.

It appears Mahomes has since removed his like from the post.

She was not following the Republican presidential candidate Friday night.

The social media saga comes just months after Mahomes’ NFL superstar husband made headlines for refusing to weigh in on the presidential race.

He told Time magazine in April that he did not want to “pressure anyone to vote for a certain president.”
