Brittney Griner fled from a speaking event planned in Maryland on Monday morning after discovering what she thought was a threatening message in her hotel room.
The star of the WNBA found a piece of adhesive tape with the words “gay baby prison” written on it.
Griner, 34, is gay and was imprisoned in Russia once for possession of marijuana, before the Biden administration brought her home in a prisoner exchange for Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer. She and her wife Cherrelle also welcomed a little boy together at the end of 2024.
She was to talk to cannabis lovers at an event on Monday by Women Grow on Monday on Monday, an organization focused on women’s leaders.
However, it seems that the note was an unhappy coincidence rather than anything that aimed to Griner, who stayed at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.
The Police Department of the County Prince George was quoted by TMZ saying: “The detectives have learned that the expression” gay baby prison “is commonly used as a reference to the video game.

“As the gang was located, a large agreement took place at the Gaylord which attracted thousands of people, many of whom are interested in the anime as well as in video game enthusiasts.
“Currently, detectives have not discovered any link or threat against the guest who locked the band.”
The sentence in the game community apparently refers to a problem in the design of a video game where players are locked in a part of a level and cannot move to progress.
The women of the CEO of Grow, Chanda Macias, told Marijuana moment: “Whether it is a targeted attack or an unfortunate coincidence, the whole woman of women grew up and that I support the decision wholeheartedly from Brittney and standing with her at that time.
“The Gaylord (Hotel) assured us that the conference and its customers are safe; They said the threat in question was a joke of the same left by a previous guest and unfortunately failed by the cleaning staff.
