A British woman was charged in Australia for the death of a man whom she would have struck when driving an e-scooter after a night of alcohol consumption.
The prosecutors told the magistrates that Alicia Kemp, 24, had struck Thanh Phan, 51, from behind at speeds of 20-25 km / h (12-15 MPH) on a road in the city center of Perth on May 31.
The father of two children struck his head and died two days later, which prompted the police of accusing Ms. Kemp with death by dangerous conduct under the influence. The accusation brings a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
During a subsequent justice hearing, prosecutors allegedly alleged that Mrs. Kemp, from Redditch, had drunk with a friend before the two on board the same scooter. He was refused the surety and faced the court on July 15.
The prosecutors told Perth Magistrates’ short that the video surveillance images showed the “inexplicably dangerous” conduct of Mrs. Kemp of Mrs. Kemp, taken by others on her way, and the time of collision with Mr. Phan while he was waiting to cross the road.
Ms. Kemp was denied a deposit by a magistrate on the grounds that she posed a “risk of theft”, after the prosecutors argued that she was in Australia with a working vacation visa and could try to leave.
British media reported on Saturday that her parents were flying to Australia to support her. His boyfriend was present during court hearings in Perth.
Ms. Kemp faces an additional accusation of dangerous driving occasionally body lesions under the influence of the injuries suffered by his passenger, which was thrown from scooter E and suffered a fractured skull and a broken nose.
Police said Ms. Kemp had a level of blood content 0.158 when she hit Mr. Phan. The legal limit of alcohol leading to drink in Australia is 0.05.

The pair hired the e-scooter just before 8:30 p.m.
In a statement last week, Mr. Phan’s family described it as a husband, a father, a beloved brother and friend.
He had worked as a structure engineer and had already lived in Sydney, as well as Vietnam and Singapore, the Australian media reported.
They called for an examination of security regulations concerning the use of rental scooters “to help prevent other serious incidents which put lives in danger”.
The Perth municipal council suspended the use of rental e-scooters Thursday, the authorities withdrawing street vehicles this week. The deputy mayor of Lord Bruce Reynolds described the death of Mr. Phan as “tragic event”.
The Australian-Western Australia Minister also examines regulations on scooters.
