Britney Spears’ sons are ready to heal their relationship with the pop star after a Mother’s Day phone call.
“Obviously, reconciliation/reunification is somewhat complex and can be a process that takes some time,” Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Page Six.
“And the phone call was a good sign and a step in the right direction, but it’s a process that requires more than just a phone call,” he adds.
Kaplan denies reports that the pop princess flew to Hawaii to physically reunite with her boys, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, whom she shares with Federline.
“Even though Kevin supports the boys in their relationship with their mother and is happy that the boys finally had a phone conversation with her on Mother’s Day, reports that she flew to Hawaii and the encountered are inaccurate,” he tells us.
Representatives for Spears did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Sean and Jayden moved to Hawaii with Federline and his wife Victoria Prince, along with their two children — Peyton, 10, and Jordan, 12 — in 2023. At the time, Page Six confirmed that Spears, 42, did not oppose this move.
In June 2023, Federline, 46, denied moving to the popular vacation destination to take advantage of a legal loophole that would extend Spears’ child support obligations.
Instead, Prince reportedly received a job offer at a university, while the former backup dancer reportedly received DJ opportunities.
The “Toxic” hitmaker has an infamously difficult relationship with her sons, who have primarily resided with their father over the years.
In May 2023, TMZ reported that the trio hadn’t reunited in “well over a year” because Sean and Jayden were unhappy with Spears’ bold social media activity.
In 2022, Jayden said in an interview that he and his brother had not seen their famous mother in months.
“I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I’ll really want to see her again,” he noted.
He also said he was ready to repair their relationship, but warned it would take “a lot of time and effort.”
After the interview aired, Spears ripped Jayden for speaking publicly about their relationship and claiming she was “struggling” as a mother.
“Do you want me to get better so I can continue to give your father $40,000 a month?” » » she asked on social networks. “Or is the reason you decide to be hateful because it’s actually over in two years and you get nothing?
Spears welcomed her sons into the world during her tumultuous two years of marriage to Federline in the early 2000s.

The actor and producer has largely retained primary custody of the boys since due to his 13-year conservatorship, which ended in November 2021.
In her 2023 memoir, “The Woman in Me,” the Grammy winner confessed that she “accepted” her controversial conservatorship so she could see her children.
“Because I followed the rules, I got my boys back,” she wrote.
Federline previously shut down reports that he conspired with Spears’ family to secure the conservatorship and denied using their children as pawns.
“Kevin was not involved in the conservatorship, and he was not an agent of the conservator or anyone on that side of the probate case,” Kaplan told Page Six in November 2021.
“What he did, he did because he believed he had to do it for the sake of the health and well-being of the children. Kevin never threatened anything in this regard.
