A report compiled by eminent British human rights lawyers accusing 10 British citizens of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza should be submitted to Scotland Yard on Monday, the Guardian reported.
The 240 -page file, the result of a six -month investigation, alleges that individuals were accomplices in the targeted murder of civilians and humanitarian workers, including the fire of elite shooters – as well as in the blind attacks against civil zones, including hospitals.
The Guardian noted that the identity of the accused and the complete content of the report would not be made public “for legal reasons”.
According to the report, the 10 men, who served in the FDI, were also involved in attacks against historic monuments and religious institutions, as well as in the transfer and forced displacement of civilians. Hague investigators would have helped prepare for the case, which covers incidents from October 2023 to May 2024.
“If one of our nationals commits an offense, we must do something. Even if we cannot prevent the government of foreign countries from behaving badly, we can at least prevent our nationals from behaving badly,” said the famous British human rights lawyer Michael Mansfield, one of the authors of the report. “British nationals are under the legal direction not to end with crimes committed in Palestine. No one is above the law. “
The report will be subject to the name of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), based in Gaza, and the Public Interest Law Center based in the United Kingdom (PIC) and is based on information and testimonies accessible to the public of residents of Gaza.
A story, of a man described as having worked in a medical establishment in the Palestinian enclave, describes bodies “dispersed on the ground, in particular in the middle of the courtyard of the hospital, where many were buried in a serious mass”. He added that a bulldozer “ran on a corpse in a horrible and heartbreaking scene, profanating the dead”. Neither the witness nor the installation was identified.
Sean Summerfield, another lawyer who helped compile the file, said the report presented a “convincing” case. “The public will be shocked, I would have thought of hearing that there is credible evidence that the British were directly involved in committing some of these atrocities,” he said, adding that he and the other authors of the report hope to see the suspects translated into justice.
