British Airways is introducing a status match offer – so frequent flyers from rival airlines like Delta or United can have access to its swanky lounges and other perks.
Top tier members of eight loyalty programs can earn free Gold or Silver status on BA’s Executive Club as part of this offer.
This gives access to BA lounges, free extra baggage, priority check-in, security and boarding and better upgrade chances.
It also unlocks the same benefits when you fly on more than a dozen other airlines that are part of the same Oneworld alliance as BA, including American, Alaska, Cathay Pacific, Quantas, Qatar and Fiji.

Gold status on British Airways allows access to the Chelsea Lounge at New York JFK Airport, managed by BA and American Airlines. It is a lounge for first class passengers and also with Gold status.

BA will achieve equivalent status to three American and Canadian airline programs: Delta SkyMiles, United Mileage Plus and Air Canada Aeroplan.
Members of the loyalty programs of five European airlines can also get gold or silver: Virgin Atlantic, Air France, KLM, Luthansa and Scandinavia.

The offer is valid for new and existing BA Executive Club members who are members of any of the programs listed above with corresponding status.
Customers with first-tier status with all eight airlines can apply online.
They must provide valid proof of eligible frequent flyer status, and the application outcome will be shared via email.
