Britain’s Got Talent: Simon says he ‘don’t understand’ Bruno
The time has almost come to find out which artist will be named Britain’s Got Talent 2024 champion. As the ITV show kicked off on Sunday evening, all four judges wowed in their best outfits before welcoming the contestants.
However, it seemed viewers were quick to comment on the judges’ wildcard option as the Trickstars were brought back to compete in the final, for the second time. On Twitter, @TVqueertiques said: “They did nothing to prove they deserved this wildcard spot. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent”
@_shxn96 tweeted: “It’s a shame the trickstars are the wild cards, they’ve already been to the final, there are so many other deserving choices”
With @ItsCloeMoe adding: “Really… trickstars wtf, I mean they were good BUT THEY WERE IN THE FINAL BEFORE, so many others deserved it, I don’t understand this show sometimes.” Throughout the Last week, ITV viewers saw the semi-finalists all hoping to earn a place in the grand final.
However, only eight people were selected, with one of them being crowned the winner on Sunday evening.
The lucky actor will also receive a huge £250,000 cash prize and a place at the Royal Variety Performance.
One of the hopeful contestants hoping to become the winner of the 2024 series is 28-year-old singer Sydnie Christmas.
According to the latest odds, she is the bookmaker’s favorite to become the next champion and follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, comedian Viggo Venn.
Sydnie’s odds are 2/5 to win, with Alex Mitchel in second place at odds of 4/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve seen some sensational acts along the way.
“But it all comes down to tonight’s finale, where the odds suggest it will take something pretty special to stop Sydnie Christmas from winning the series.”
Alex Mitchell’s odds of winning are 4/1 ahead of Abigail and Afronitaa at 7/1.
Unfortunately, all other acts are currently at 12/1 or above, with Northants Sings Out and Trixy at odds of 66/1.
Sydnie was Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer number and won the semi-final on Thursday night.
The actor told ITV News: “I can’t believe the way it happened. We cannot compare ourselves to anyone because everyone is their own act.
“That’s what’s beautiful. And that’s why I love this competition. My main goal would be to play at the Royal Variety. If I had to do that, oh my God, I would cry.”
Britain’s Got Talent is available on ITV.
