Brisbane sports clubs are destroyed by children following the tropical cyclone Alfred – but not everyone is sympathetic to their fate

Brisbane Sporting clubs face repairs in the hundreds of thousands after children have torn their fields following the tropical cyclone Alfred.

Former tropical cyclone Alfred beat the Southeast with strong precipitation with totals exceeding 400 mm.

Certain parts of Brisbane have been put in state of the floods with many navigable pathways which burst their banks with certain residents who have headed for land far from the water or to prepare to leave immediately if the threat is getting worse.

While many are faced with a devastation of the weather event, others in Brisbane looked at the good side of the flood and widespread power outages which saw more than 350,000 houses without electricity this weekend.

The children and their parents went to local parks with boogie boards to have fun on the water -full fields.

But sports clubs went to social networks to demand that they stop – because they cause thousands of dollars in damage.

Mitchelton Football Club members were shocked to see children using boogie boards on their land after the floods of the former tropical cyclone Alfred

Many residents were not sympathetic to the club, saying that children should be allowed to have fun

Brisbane underwent widespread floods during the weekend of the Fluge de Rain Mousson

A local parent has published an apparently harmless image of children who have fun at the Mitchelton Football Club in the northwest of Brisbane, but quickly pulled fire from the club.

“I have driven so many children from the field yesterday and today, like Mitchelton FC staff,” published a member of the club in response.

“Hundreds of thousands of dollars enter the maintenance of these fields for 10 minutes of racing them.”

It comes after the club is left in shock from the floods of 2022 which completely flooded the clubhouse and the fields, while Hoons also tore the lawn to worsen the pain of the club.

However, the parent of one of the fun children defended his actions, despite the large stretches of park around the football club to be used instead.

“I was just trying to get the most out of the situation as *** to bring a little joy in our lives,” he posted.

“I’m going to start taking pictures of the bad parking lot again and publishing my reflections on Facebook.”

Many residents of Brisbane rushed to the defense of parents, despite the damage caused to local sports clubs.

Hoons also torn the Mitchelton FC fields in 2022, causing expensive repairs

“Think that the rain will do enough damage, let them have fun,” said one of them.

“It’s been a long time since you had fun, huh?” asked another.

“How dare to children be children,” said another.

But others said that parents were inconsiderate, especially with so many other parks available.

“I am sure you would feel differently if it was your job and your money that someone was carelessly ruined,” published one of them.

“There is grass on the other side of the fence on which they can play and have a good time that would have no impact on thousands of members of the community,” added another.

“People who think that this is not clear has clearly never been to sports or fundraising committees or has led to support the local committee,” said another.

The northern suburbs’ hockey club also went to social networks to demand that residents do not hold sports fields until they are strengthened. ”

The northern suburbs’ hockey club also visited Facebook to tell the premises to stay out of their field

“Each step disguises it if the fields are still soft,” continued the club.

“Dorrington Park, Ashgrove, is maintained by the Northern Suburbbs Hockey Club. Although some supports are provided by the Brisbane Municipal Council, most of which is funded by the club, including the best dressing made in early January for more than $ 24,000.

“It is very disappointing for our members and volunteers who help get there when Dorro is treated as a park of pleasure in water.”

Constant rain should not become isolated showers before Tuesday.

“Even after the rain has happened, the floods can continue for several days to come,” said Bureau of Meteorology Jonathan How.
