- Now, the assistant McCann insists that Ferguson and his management team would not be afraid to take the full -time reins in Ibrox
- McCann recognizes, however, that the decision is entirely in the hands of those behind the imminent control of the club
Neil McCann insists that Barry Ferguson is ready to become the next manager of the Rangers.
Ferguson was appointed owner of the goalkeeper until the end of the season after the departure of Philippe Clement in February, and appointed the former McCann teammates, Allan McGregor and Billy Dodds as his assistants.
Meanwhile, they beat the Première Celtic champion in Parkhead and overcome Fenerbahce of Jose Mourinho on the road to the quarter -finals of the Europa League.
With an American takeover of the club pending, no movement on the management front is expected before the summer.
However, McCann believes that Ferguson and his staff prospered under the responsibility of leading the team on a temporary basis and would have no fear of taking the reins full time if they were approached to do so.
The former Rangers winger said: “This is not my place to say – if it is a new property to come – if Fergie should get the job.

“What I would say is that I was very impressed by the way he wants to work. He showed a desire to allow Doddsy and I a lot on the training field and in the matches.
“Many people may have thought of his coach CV that he would not even be ready to take this position. I think he proved this wrong.
“So it’s not my place to say, but I don’t think anyone in this building will tell you something different.
“The whole, addressing Fergie and as coach staff, none of us is afraid of a challenge. Not one of us.
“And if (the work) should be presented to us, I don’t think we would have none of us:” No, it’s not for us “.
“But as I said, it is too far from afar to encourage this. We have a huge match against Hibs which are undefeated in the league.
The Rangers have seven championship games and massive European equality against Bilbao athletic to play between now and the end of the campaign.

Neil McCann takes stock of the goalkeeper’s boss during another tense meeting
McCann admits that the way Ferguson’s team is achieved during this spell could shape any decision on the next manager.
“Of course, it could have an influence, yes,” added the former director of Dundee. “And you hope there has already been an influence because the board of directors said they had to make a change.
“When a board of directors makes a change with a management team, then it is clear that he is immediately looking for a reaction and that he wants results. And all we can do is try to get them.
