Brighton vs Arsenal Preview

Arsenal returned to winning ways on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over Luton to follow up their goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium against fellow title rivals Manchester City on Easter Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side moved to the top of the Premier League table following their midweek victory as they look to become champions of England for the first time since 2004.

The Gunners are locked in a three-way title fight with Liverpool and Manchester City, with just one point separating the top three teams in the most exciting Premier League title race in decades.

The north London side head into the weekend having won 10 of their last 12 matches in all competitions and have collected 28 points from a possible 30 in their last 10 Premier League matches.

The Gunners travel to the south coast on Saturday evening having picked up more away points than any other Premier League team this season, despite being winless in two of their last three away matches.

Brighton prepare for the visit of the title challengers having won just one of their last five league matches and four defeats in their last seven in all competitions.

Roberto de Zerbi’s side’s latest outing, a 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Brentford on Wednesday night, saw the Seagulls maintain their ninth place as they seek a top-seven finish by the end of the season.

A seventh place finish should be enough to qualify for next season’s European competition, which would be only the second time Brighton have achieved this feat in their history, following their appearance in the Europa League last 16 this season.

The Seagulls are currently just two points behind seventh-placed West Ham, who have also played a game more, with Sussex aware that a win on Saturday would put them among the top contenders for the seventh and final European spot.

Arsenal have won two of the last three meetings between the two teams, but Brighton have won three of the last five, although they are winless in their last three home games against the Gunners.
