Bridgestone announces the closure of tire factories in Tennessee with 700 layoffs

The bridgestone tire manufacturer Americas closes his Lavergne, Tennessee, his factories and dismisses 700 workers there

Nashville, Tennessee – Bridgestone Americas tire manufacturer closes his factories Lavergne, Tennessee, Truck and Bus Radial draws and dismissed 700 workers there, the company announced in a press release.

Bridgestone said that the closure will help the company “optimize its commercial footprint” and “strengthen its competitiveness”.

In addition, Bridgestone has announced the ability and reductions of the workforce in its monks’ tire factories, Iowa, and additional labor in sales and American operations. In Latin America, it provides reductions in labor and production capacity in Argentina and Brazil. A Bridgestone spokesperson did not immediately answer questions Friday morning on the extent of these discounts.

The Lavergne factory was the first tire producing installation in North America for Bridgestone Corporation. The company ceased to make tires for cars and light trucks at the factory in 2009, linking about half of the workers at the time.
