“Bridgerton” casting director Kelly Valentine Henry said her inbox has been flooded with X-rated audition tapes from actors vying to appear on the next season of the steamy historical drama.
On Sunday’s episode of the “Should I Delete This?” podcast, Henry revealed that some of the videos she receives are closer to adult films than audition tapes.
“It’s every day… I get the most incredible, unsolicited videos,” she told hosts Em Clarkson and Alex Light.
“It’s basically sex, it’s not sex per se, but it’s pretty impactful,” she continued. “They’re not nude photos, but close.”
Henry, who has been casting the hit Netflix series since day one, said his inbox is still “90 percent” full of emails from people trying to land their big roles on the hit series.
“Bridgerton” debuted in 2020 and quickly became one of the streaming giant’s most popular series, known for its blush-inducing love scenes, outrageous costumes and memorable monologues.
Henry is currently casting for season 4, specifically Sophie Beckett, who catches the eye of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson.
Even though they haven’t found their diamond yet, Henry said “everyone” wants the coveted role — and is willing to do more than what it takes to get it.
One woman even sent Henry a huge, “heavy-duty” plastic banner of himself, dressed in a Regency-style costume, big enough to hang on “scaffolding.”
“It’s kind of sad, actually,” Henry said. “I don’t understand.”
They haven’t announced which couple season 4 will follow, but fans believe it will likely follow either Benedict or Francesca Bridgerton.
While Henry is already busy finding the next big “Bridgerton” star, fans are still reeling from the recently released third season, which follows Colin Bridgerton’s love story with Penelope Featherington.
Although some viewers have complained about the lack of public displays of affection between the two leads, actors Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton would probably disagree.
Coughlan revealed in April that she and Newton were “so comfortable” with each other while filming sex scenes that they often lounged around naked together.
“It shows that we had gotten to a point where we were very comfortable together,” she told Teen Vogue. “We had just finished the big, most intense, most involved sex scene…and we felt relieved.”
While Coughlan didn’t reveal what “big sex scene” she was talking about, the couple did notably destroy a lounge chair while filming their steamy mirror scene.
