The Giants’ Recruit des Giants of the first round, Jaxson Dart, shot on Saturday in his second consecutive pre-season match, but it will not be given the opportunity to win the departure position for the regular season.
Asked after the match if Dart could be in the starting quarter-rear conversation, the head coach of the Giants, Brian Daboll, said that Russell Wilson had already received the position.
“Russ is our starter and we will continue to develop Jaxson,” said Daboll. “Jaxson must just continue to work to improve, and we have to help him improve … What we are trying to do is helping Jaxson to be the best quarter that he can be. Like all quarters. Like every player of the team.”
Dart completed 14 of the 16 passes for 137 yards, with a touchdown and no interception in the pre-season match against the jets. Wilson went 4-in-7 for 108 yards, without affected and interception. For the moment, Wilson remains the starter. But if Wilson does not play well at the start of the season, Daboll will continue to get questions about Dart.
