Brentford has confirmed he will keep his current home shirt until the 2022/23 campaign.
The newly promoted squad benefited from the unique decision of the club’s kit maker Umbro.

This means that their current red and white stripe will also be worn next season, whether in the Premier League or not.
And it’s a move with the fans in mind as the forward-thinking club look to make following the squad less expensive.
Brentford General Manager Jon Varney said on his website: “Respectful, progressive and together are our three core values at Brentford FC, as many of our fans know. We also believe that football is affordable for our fans and are aware of the need for the game to focus more on sustainability. So when we discussed the idea, everyone at the Club was fully behind it.
“While it is not normal for Premier League clubs to renew a kit for two seasons, fans have told us that they would be in favor of the savings that a two-season shirt would deliver. This season our Premier League membership means that the revenue we get from broadcast and commercial partnerships far exceeds the revenue we can generate from retail, so now is the perfect time for us to try something out. something different without having a material impact on our income.
“All of our kits have been in high demand this season, but our home jersey has been particularly popular. We placed additional orders during our promotion to the Premier League and refueled before Christmas. This move allows us to maintain higher stock levels and helps improve both availability and delivery times for those looking to purchase a shirt that will now be relevant beyond the end of this season.
“We also think it’s a step in the right direction to help the environment a bit. It can only be good to reduce kit cycles when circumstances allow, and we will continue to work with Umbro to ensure that our kit production is as sustainable as possible. It’s only a small thing, but we think it will help.
“We know some of our fans like having three new kits each season and may fear having less choice. The kit reveal is always a highly anticipated event and each season we nervously wait to see the reaction from our supporters. For those fans keen to buy a new away kit every season, we can confirm that we will have a new away kit and a new third kit for the 2022/23 season. We hope that the new design of the away jersey will excite our fans who remember from the ’80s and early’ 90s, while the new third jersey is designed for the future!
“I would like to thank Umbro for supporting this idea, as well as Hollywoodbets and SafetyCulture whose commitment to multi-year relationships made this opportunity possible.”
The club’s move is a departure from modern tradition that sees teams release three new kits every season, and could shame others to follow suit.
