The Pentagon Inspector General reviews measures taken by the military to deal with the wave of UFO sightings in recent years involving high-performance aircraft that have violated military airspace.

The probe comes as Congress awaits a public report, due next month, from a host of national security agencies on the matter, and as advocates complain that some departments and agencies are not cooperating fully in sharing Datas.

“The objective of this assessment is to determine the extent to which the DoD has taken action regarding unidentified aerial phenomena (PAU),” wrote Randolph Stone, assistant inspector general for assessments on space, intelligence, l engineering and surveillance, in a Monday note to heads of military branches and other senior military commanders and intelligence chiefs.
