Braves acquire Jorge Soler in trade with Giants ahead of MLB deadline
The Braves are back in force.
2021 World Series MVP Jorge Soler was acquired from the Giants in a trade late Monday night that also included the reunion of right-hander Luke Jackson, MLB.com reported.
Both players were part of that world-champion Braves club in 2021, and Soler had his first stint with Atlanta after being picked up in a trade deadline that year before becoming a crucial part of the team’s playoff run.
Solar hit .240 this season with 12 homers and 40 RBIs in 93 games with the Giants.
He’s also been on fire lately, going 11-for-18 in his last five games, with a home run and five RBIs.
Jackson is 4-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 36 relief appearances.
The Braves are just a half-game ahead of the Mets for the top NL Wild Card spot after an 8-3 loss to the Brewers on Monday night.
