BRAVE NEW WORLD Set Photo Reveals Specific Change in Rosa Salazar’s Diamondback

After the first glimpse yesterday of Giancarlo Esposito in costume on the set of Captain America: Brave New Worldwe have a new photo giving us a glimpse of Rosa Salazar (Alita: fighting angel) in the role of Rachel Leighton, aka Diamondback.

A previous rumor claimed that the group of supervillains known as the Serpent Society had actually been completely cut out of the film during reshoots. That may have been accurate at the time, but this latest round of additional photographs has revealed that at least one member of the team will still be around.

As you can see, Salazar now sports the character’s signature hot pink hair after previously appearing with blonde locks in a photo shared online Last year.

The Serpent Society (assuming they all still appear) will also consist of Rattler, Constrictor, Asp, and Cobra.

According to a previous report, Diamondback will use “diamond spike tattoos on his hands to fire projectiles from his fingers.” Rattler “generates sonic booms from his legs, creating disruptive vibrations. “Constrictor” uses charged coils on its arms to contract and immobilize its enemies. Asp’s “fire fists light up combat with fiery advantage” and Cobra (played by Seth Rollins) has “retractable fangs, capable of spitting corrosive acid.”

On a related note, scooper MTTSH reiterated a previous rumor that Brave New World’s plot would revolve around the Celestial who was frozen near the end of Eternals.

The first official images from the film were released a few weeks ago, featuring Anthony Mackie as the returning Sam Wilson equipped with Steve Rogers’ iconic vibranium shield, and our new Sentinel of Liberty meeting Ross, who will charge at Wilson to reform The Avengers.

In footage shown at CinemaCon last month, Ross welcomes Wilson to the White House to congratulate him on his past heroism, but chaos quickly ensues when music plays and activates some sleeper agent assassins, including Isaiah Bradley from Carl Lumbly, who are trying to eliminate the President.

“It made more sense for it to be more of a ground-based spy action movie rather than aliens and planes going through portals and shit.” Mackie told EW. “Even though I’ve been in a lot of them and seen it all now, the opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true action star and Avenger comes with this movie.”

“This film is a clear reset” he adds. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be. I think with these films you get a clear new picture of what Marvel is heading towards in the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. »

Joining Mackie and Ford will be Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Shira Haas as Israeli superhero Sabra, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader.

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but rumor has it that the story will see Samuel Sterns revealed as the “secret benefactor” behind the Serpent Society. It’s unclear what this will entail, but we assume it will fund the group and possibly provide them with technology.

Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 14, 2025.
