Brandon Marshall Tears Zach Wilson Over Elijah Moore Response

Brandon Marshall is unhappy with the way Zach Wilson is handling the Elijah Moore situation.

Marshall, a former Jets catcher, appeared on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams” with Kay Adams on Friday and was asked about his advice to Wilson after Moore demanded a trade from the Jets.

“You have seen it in the past. I saw Zach Wilson’s presser yesterday,” Marshall said. “He totally mishandled it. He should have said, ‘He’s my guy, and I’m going to find ways to give him the ball.’ He came out with other excuses that were valid but you don’t say it publicly. You go to your guy and you say, ‘I’ll find a way.’ »

Wilson’s press conference Thursday was no affront to Moore, however.

“We like him,” the QB said when asked about Moore’s displeasure. “I know how important he is to this team. We’re going to do everything we can. We’re winning games. We’re having a lot of fun. Really all we can do is keep learning and growing. and let him know that I need him.

In the past two weeks of the Jets’ two wins, over the Dolphins and the Packers, Moore has combined for just one catch for 11 yards. On Thursday, it emerged that the 2021 second-round pick wanted Gang Green.

Marshall said he spoke to Moore about the situation.

“I just spoke to Elijah Moore 30 minutes ago and told him I support him,” he said. “I told him I’m in his corner. A lot of people don’t like that I’m a huge Jets fan, and Jets fans are going to be mad at me, but I told him that as a wide receiver you get paid to catch the ball. How you go about it is another story, but ultimately zero targets, two strikes, and maybe behind the scenes things don’t go the way they should, maybe you have these discussions, but I would like them to continue internally.
