Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney react to the findings

EXCLUSIVE: Less than a week before NBCUniversal’s big pitch to Big Apple advertisers, Andy Cohen, the media giant’s reality TV crown jewel, isn’t shining so brightly after all.

Despite Bravo’s insistence that an investigation by an outside party shed light on the matter Real Housewives franchise boss of “unsubstantiated” allegations of cocaine use, alcohol abuse and sexual harassment, lawyers for Leah McSweeney and Brandi Glanville say it’s all a sham.

“It’s perfect timing,” McSweeney’s lawyer, Gary Adelman, told Deadline on Thursday after Bravo released a statement calling their Cohen investigation “over” and done with. “Just one line so they can repeat it to all the Up Fronts announcers.”

“How do you conduct an investigation without talking to anyone? McSweeney’s lead attorney added that his client was never questioned by the law firm’s external investigation. “Our view is that no one will believe this is a real investigation.”

“I look forward to reviewing the details of the ‘independent’ investigation report,” said Glanville’s attorney, Bryan Freedman. “Since there has been no finding of wrongdoing, there would of course be no need to hide or bury the findings.”

“NBC has not spoken with the complaining witnesses,” Freedman also said of his client. “How is this an investigation? » In a letter to NBCU and Warner Bros. Discovery on February 22, Glanville claimed she was sexually harassed by a video of Watch what’s happening live! host Cohen in 2022 telling Glanville that he, an openly gay man, wanted her to watch him have sex with “another Bravo star that night” and more. Later in the day, Cohen said the video with him and Kate Chastain was meant as a “joke” but was still “totally inappropriate and I apologize for that.”

As the spotlight turned more and more towards the underbelly of Real Housewives series and unscripted television series, McSweeney sued Cohen, Bravo, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros Discovery, production company Shed Media and various producers on March 7. In her jury trial to bring the complaint in federal court in the Empire State, the The Real Housewives of New York The star accused Cohen of using “cocaine with his employees to further promote a work culture that thrives on drug and alcohol abuse, leading to a failure to accommodate employees with disabilities and an attempt to remain without substance.

McSweeney took to social media the same day to further lift the veil and declare: “Your favorite Bravo shows are run by people who create an unsafe work environment, encourage drug abuse to artificially create drama, and cynically attack each other to the vulnerabilities of their employees. »

Cohen’s own lawyers at Gibson Dunn threatened to sue McSweeney herself if she did not “immediately recant and retract” the allegations. She didn’t and they didn’t take legal action on their end.

With the Bravo statement of this investigation exonerating Cohen, McSweeney’s attorney Adelman scoffed and added, “We look forward to reviewing all interviews, evidence and final reports from the investigation conducted by NBCU, when we will receive them during the discovery phase of the lawsuit. .”

While NBCU sources say outside investigators attempted to speak to McSweeney and Glanville through their attorneys, Bravo had no comment on whether they contacted the two women or their attorneys. The NBCU unit also would not release a copy of the report on Cohen’s behavior, citing attorney-client privilege.

If NBCU sends comment, we will update this post.

With What’s happening live picked up until the end of 2025 and a boat full of lucrative profits Real Housewives renewed shows today, Cohen can seem as secure as anyone can be in Hollywood. And maybe it will enter May 13th NBCU from the start, but, although the company has proclaimed that any investigation into allegations of misconduct has been addressed, it is far from over.
