This is the current big political story: both parties are rejecting their leaders, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. It is a continuous tectonic shift and the story underlying every daily political story. It is being built and will only grow. The two sides start jostling for the sequel, which is next. Both are busy.
I wrote last week about Mr. Trump’s position. Much will be made of the latest data, a small poll from the University of New Hampshire in the nation’s first primary state. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is tied with Mr. Trump in a Republican primary and is running better against Mr. Biden than Mr. Trump. Relevant here: “Biden and Trump are increasingly unpopular in New Hampshire.” Only 62% of Republicans want Mr. Trump to run again and 54% of Democrats say the same about Mr. Biden. These results are consistent with what I hear from readers.
