Borderlands 4 has been officially announced, here is the trailer

Well, Gearbox studio head Randy Pitchford wasn’t kidding when he recently teased Borderlands 4. During Gamescom’s opening night event this year, it was revealed that the fourth entry would be arriving in 2025 on multiple platforms.

While there’s no mention of a Nintendo release, it seems like there’s a good chance one will be announced in the future, with the Switch’s “successor” announcement expected at some point “this fiscal year.” The original Borderlands trilogy (and even some spin-offs) have also been made available on the Switch during its lifecycle.

The Borderlands 4 trailer doesn’t reveal much, but according to the description, players will once again take on the role of a Vault Hunter as they search for “secret alien treasure” on a new planet, all while blowing up everything in sight.

This announcement follows the release of Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch last October.
