Murphy and Vella slipped badly in the notes this year

Daily Mail Australia approached the ABC for comments and does not insin that Vella has ever worked in a strip club.

Murphy, who was a highly respected football player and twice All-Australian, had a bumpy start of the new role, with the breakfast notes on the one hand audience of 7.9% to 6.3% in March.

Another drop to only 5.6% followed in April.

Earlier this year, the 42 -year -old Bulldogs Great were criticized by the presenter of Radio Rival Tom Elliott for having been “ awakened ” after using the term “ aflm ” to describe the Australian High Australian football competition.

“Does anyone else honestly want to call AFLM?” Said Elliott in the morning.

“In America, you have the NBA then the WNBA, which works well.

“I think he (Murphy) is the only person to do this. He persists in calling AFLM … is ignorance.

In 2023 Murphy struck the former teammate of Bulldogs Jason Akermanis concerning a difference in opinion on the question of whether football stars should go out in gay.

Akermanis was suspended by the Bulldogs and then struck off in 2010 after writing in a newspaper column that a player who came out of gay would be too controversial for the League, writing: “ Stay in the cupboard ”.

Murphy has thought about the controversy in an episode of ABC’s “oven corners” podcast.

He said he was “disgusted”, “embarrassed” and “injured” by the comments of Akermanis.

Akermanis then supported his comment, marking Murphy a “sook” and a “complete myth”.

In the history of Australian Football League, no player has ever openly gay.

Murphy, on the other hand, said that any player to do so would be supported by the players and the AFL in an impassed statement.
