‘Blues Brothers’ actress confirmed dead in Los Angeles wildfires

Retired actress Dalyce Curry has died following the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. She was 95 years old.

Her remains were found days after the fire destroyed her Altadena property, her great-granddaughter Dalyce Kelley confirmed on Facebook.

“We had a great run.” » Kelley wrote. “She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.

According to ABC 7Kelley dropped her grandmother, Dalyce Curry, off at home around midnight Tuesday after a full day at the hospital. At the time, she was going to take care of other family members.

Kelley was awakened by a message that the power had gone out in Curry’s house. That’s when Kelley went to her great-grandmother’s home, where a police officer informed her that Curry’s house was completely burned to the ground.

Curry had not been seen since that night and Kelley was unable to find her at the Pasadena Civic Center, which houses displaced people. Kelley then reached out to the public for help finding her great-grandmother in a Facebook post last Wednesday.

The former actress, also known as “Momma D,” starred in films such as “The Ten Commandments,” “The Blues Brothers” and “Lady Sings the Blues.”
