Bloom & Rage drops 2024 release to avoid Life is Strange sequel

If you’ve been eagerly waiting to collect the Lost Records: Bloom & Rage hits ever since we got this cool trailer during the IGN x ID@Xbox showcase back in April, we have some bad news: Lost Records: Bloom & Rage has been delayedand will now launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC in early 2025.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage postponed to 2025

As reported by Don’t Nod via Actusnews Wire, the developer’s upcoming point-and-click adventure game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, will not be releasing later this year as originally planned. The announcement states that recent trends and developments in the industry have led Don’t Nod to believe Lost Records would have a more successful launch in early 2025.

“We know many of our fans are looking forward to this game, as are the recently announced next installment of Life is Strange. Let’s give these two titles the space they need for our players to enjoy within the great community we’ve built. We firmly believe that the wait for Bloom & Rage will be worth it. We look forward to sharing this new adventure, which we hope will become another memorable chapter in the Don’t Nod universe.

We didn’t have a solid release for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage yet, but it was slated to launch in late 2024. Earlier this month, Square Enix and Deck Nine revealed Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which will launch on Xbox Series X|S on October 29. Life is Strange was originally created by Don’t Nod and features similar gameplay to what we saw in Lost Records, and given its already large fanbase, it’s no surprise that Don’t Nod would want some breathing room between Life is Strange and its new IP.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is the first part of a two-part narrative adventure set in a fictional town called Velvet Cove in 1995. We will follow the story of Swann, Nora, Autumn and Kat, four high school friends who reunite after 27 years to confront a dark secret they hid 27 years ago.

If you’re keen to dive into the goodness of Don’t Nod now, Tell Me Why is currently free to claim and keep on the Xbox Store until June 30 in celebration of Pride Month.
