Blake Shelton feels warm and fuzzy a recent fashion choice by Gwen Stefanithe son of, Apollo. Last month, the 9-year-old turned heads at his mother’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in a blue blazer with dark denim jeans and brown cowboy boots – looking every bit to his stepfather’s curly-haired double.
“When he came down that morning, I was so happy and excited,” Shelton told ET’s Cassie DiLaura. “He wears sweatpants or gym shorts all the time, so when he puts on jeans and boots, it’s like, you know, it warms my heart. I mean, it’s really nice to have him see have a bit of country style to what he wears.
Shelton says Apollo even has a cowboy hat.
“We gave him a hat,” he shares. “We need to make him wear more.”
While the family spends a lot of time at their Oklahoma resort, Apollo isn’t the only one following in Shelton’s footsteps. Stefani’s eldest son Kingston, 17, recently made his live music debutt at Shelton’s Restaurant and Bar, Ole Red, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Music clearly runs in the family blood, as Stefani shares 15-year-old Kingston, Apollo and Zuma with her rocker ex, Gavin Rossdale.
“That’s what Ole Red is,” Shelton said of Kingston’s debut. “Giving these new, developing artists a chance to perform and Kingston is a great example of that.”
ET was with Shelton as he prepares to open his sixth — and largest — Ole Red location in Las Vegas, Nevada, early next year.
“I think Vegas is an obvious place,” Shelton explained. “I mean, people come here looking for entertainment and that’s what we specialize in with Ole Red, you know. And the other thing that seems to me, setting up a venue here in Las Vegas, it is the voice of country music. I mean, unless someone comes to town or there’s a residence somewhere, there’s not really a country hangout, you see What I mean? And now there’s a giant one here.
He continued, “I feel like country music is probably bigger and more popular than it’s probably ever been, just because of all kinds of artists and stuff, and streaming, and things like that. So I think there’s a huge audience that It’s maybe even recent three or four years ago, pre-COVID, and people have just had time to discover all these new things. It’s even bigger now.
Shelton said he would “definitely” move forward with his own residency — but clarified that there’s “nothing official” on the timeline.
“I’m just telling you now,” he teased. “I’m going to be in this place all the time. I mean, it’s great, you know, that we’re doing something official and, you know, having concerts here or coming here every once in a while time. But when you have that and you have it in Las Vegas, I mean, you don’t keep me from here. I’ll be here the whole time.
