Blake Lively Reacts to SNY Name Confusion With Guardians’ Ben Lively

Blake Lively: Wife and mother of four, actress, and “highly professional baseball player on the side.”

The “Gossip Girl” alum, 36, made light of Gary Cohen’s misstep during the Mets’ loss to the Guardians on Monday, when he nicknamed Cleveland pitcher Ben Lively “Blake Lively.”

“Well the cats are out of the bag,” Lively wrote alongside Cohen’s soundbite in an Instagram Story on Tuesday. “I am a highly professional baseball player.”

Cohen had discussed Ben Lively, who entered Monday’s game against the Mets with a 3.06 ERA.

“Last year, Blake Lively made his first appearance of the year for the Reds in long relief and pitched three scoreless innings. And now here he is, facing the Mets for the first time as a member of the Guardians, and he’s pitched three solid innings,” Cohen said on the show.

SNY also mocked Cohen, writing on Instagram: “Did Ben Lively get the start yesterday against the Mets…or was it someone else?” A slip of the tongue from Gare.

Ben Lively, who pitched 5 2/3 innings in Cleveland’s 3-1 win Monday, also addressed the confusion.

“The number of times this has happened,” he wrote in an Instagram story on Tuesday.

The Guardians entered Wednesday’s series finale tied for first in the AL Central at 32-17.

They beat the Mets on Tuesday 7-6.

As for Lively, she and her husband Ryan Reynolds will celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary in September.

Reynolds, 47, and Rob McElhenney of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” own the Wrexham AFC soccer club, which is the focus of the FX documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”
