After months of rumors that Blackpink’s Lisa Manobal was set to make her acting debut, HBO confirmed Monday that she would be joining the cast of Season 3 of The White Lotus. The series begins production in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok this month and will follow a new group of guests at another White Lotus property.
She joins the previously announced cast including Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Dom Hetrakul, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Julian Kostov, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Morgana. O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong and Aimee Lou Wood.
As usual, no character details are shared, but as Deadline reported in November, the multi-generational gang includes a patriarch, a business executive, an actress, a pair of mothers, including a wife of country club, a misfit and a yogi. Glenn is thought to play a man called Jim, who may be slowing down physically but is still mentally sharp and a little grumpy.
Created, written and directed by Mike White, The White Lotus is produced by White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine. For the filming and promotion of the third part, HBO partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Variety was the first to announce Manobal’s casting today.
