Blackburn ‘Culture War’ panel sounds alarm over leftists brainwashing children

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) hosted a stacked roundtable with guests deeply involved in “culture war” issues, according to video of the event first obtained by Breitbart News.

Guests included Virginia’s new lieutenant governor Winsome Sears (R) and top conservative lawyer Harmeet Dhillon and others who focused on concerns about schools’ influence on children .

“Our message from the very beginning has always been that parents matter, that children are our future and that if we don’t take care of education as we should, our children will lose, but our country will lose because that we are not alone on this planet,” Sears said, pointing to major U.S. adversaries like Russia and China.

Sears, a black Republican and Jamaican immigrant, became something of an overnight star in November after winning her election in a blue-leaning state. “Parents matter” in education, advocating for school choice, and fighting schools that infused topics of race and student sexuality into their curricula were the driving messages ahead of Republican election victories in Virginia .

Watch:

Dhillon, who has, among his extensive legal work, litigated on behalf of parents and children and against school administrators, believed that “what is happening in our schools today is perhaps the most critical issue in the American politics and American cultural life”.

“There has been a multi-year effort in our schools … to subtly corrupt the messages that go to our children,” Dhillon said, adding that she has observed a shift in school administrators’ attention “to indoctrinate [children] about sexuality at a very young age…to make this trans ideology, which is, unfortunately, some people suffer from gender confusion, but to make it kind of a mainstream civil rights choice, as opposed to what it is, is really something that shocked me when I learned this.

Dhillon added, “I think any American politician today who ignores this issue is very stupid, and any cultural leader in our country who doesn’t pay attention to the fact that the left is demagogueting us for raising these issues by calling us QAnon. . , calling us conspiracy theorists. It’s not a conspiracy. It’s in black and white. The evidence is clear.

Others who spoke on the panel included Pastor Darrell Scott, who focused on economic disparities in American communities as opposed to racial disparities.

Chad Wolf, former acting secretary of the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), also participated in the panel and expressed concern that his former agency might “sacrifice some security” for promote a “civil rights” agenda based on some of the agency’s recent initiatives pushed under President Joe Biden.

The Blackburn roundtable was one of a long series of roundtables and discussions the senator has hosted on current issues at the time they occurred.

One in February focused on the concerns of American athletes competing in the Beijing Olympics in a country accused of human rights abuses and ruled by communists. Another that month focused on the Biden administration’s handling of the Russia-Ukraine conflict as it quickly escalated into a Russian invasion.

Last week, the senator hosted a chat with swimmer Riley Gaines, a female athlete who was forced by the NCAA to compete against Lia Thomas, a man, in the women’s college swimming championships.
