Charlie Brooker’s Black mirror will return for a seventh season. Netflix has renewed the series, which wrapped its sixth season in June, Deadline has confirmed. The sixth season began four years after season 5.
The dark and satirical anthology series, set primarily in near-future dystopias, has seen numerous iterations since its launch on Channel 4 in the UK in 2011 and the series received a budget increase when It was picked up by Netflix in 2016.
The sixth season topped Netflix’s streaming Top 10 in 92 countries when it premiered in June and spent four weeks in Netflix’s English-language global TV top 10.

The most talked-about episode, “Joan is Awful,” followed a woman as her life is adapted into a streaming television series, tapping into AI themes that seemed prescient during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA negotiations.
