A 17-year-old girl stood still as a black bear approached her near a mountain lake in California, while a friend filmed the encounter.
Kimberly Mendoza and her friend were at Lake George in the Mammoth Lakes area when the encounter happened, Veuer’s Tony Spitz reported.

When the bear grabbed her leg, Mendoza casually pushed it away and slowly walked toward her friend. The bear eventually turned around and walked away as well.
As the bear approached, the two men had no clear exit as they were blocked by fallen tree branches, and they did not run away for fear the bear would chase them.
Mendoza admitted to Spitz that it was a “pretty scary moment.”
