The BJP is on course to win a seventh consecutive term in Gujarat and has an edge over Congress in Himachal Pradesh although the fight remains tough, exit polls showed on Monday.
Exit polls predicted that the BJP is likely to retain its majority in Gujarat and could set a record in terms of seats won.
They also predicted that AAP will open its account in Gujarat Assembly but will finish third behind Congress and BJP.
Gujarat exit poll results
According to the India Today-Axis My India poll, the BJP is set to create a record in terms of electoral performance in Gujarat. He also predicted that the AAP would make significant inroads in terms of vote share.
The exit poll predicted that the BJP would win 129-151 seats, the Congress 16-30 seats and the AAP 9-21 seats in Gujarat. The poll predicted that the BJP would get 46% of the vote, Congress 26% and the AAP 20%.
According to the Republic-PMARQ exit polls, the BJP is poised to secure between 128 and 148 seats with 48.2pc of voting shares. Gujarat is a BJP stronghold and the party is seeking a seventh consecutive term in the state which has 182 assembly seats.
The poll gave Congress 30-42 seats with 32.6% of the vote, AAP 2-10 seats with 15.4% of the vote split and others getting 0-3 seats with 3.8% of the vote.
The Times Now-ETG poll gave the BJP 135-145 seats in Gujarat, the Congress 24-34 and the AAP 6-16.
TV 9 Gujarati gave 125-130 seats to BJP, 40-50 seats to Congress, 3-5 seats to AAP and 3-7 seats to others.
X-Jan ki Baat exit poll gave BJP 117-140 seats, Congress 34-51 seats, AAP 6-13 seats and others 1-2 seats.
Himachal Pradesh exit poll results
In Himachal Pradesh, which went to the polls on November 12, the Republic-PMARQ exit poll gave the BJP 34 to 49 seats with a 44.8 percent vote share.
He predicted Congress would get 28-33 seats with a 42.9% vote share. The AAP is expected to win 0-1 seats in the state with a 2.8% vote share, according to the exit poll.
While most exit polls predicted that the BJP would likely retain Himachal Pradesh, one exit poll predicted that Congress would lead the draw to form a government in the hill state, which saw power alternated between the BJP and Congress for several decades.
Himachal Pradesh has 68 members.
The India Today-Axis poll predicted that Congress is in the lead and will have 30 to 40 seats in the hill state, the BJP 24 to 34 and the AAP four to eight seats.
The poll predicted a vote share of 44% for Congress, 42% for the BJP, 2% for the AAP and 12% for the others.
The India TV-Matrize poll gave the BJP 35-40 seats and 26-31 in Congress.
The poll predicts that the AAP will not be able to open its account while others will get 0 to 3 seats.
The NewsX-Jan ki Baat poll predicted 32-40 polls for the BJP, 27-34 for the Congress, none for the AAP and 1-2 for the others.
The Times Now-ETG poll predicted 34-42 seats for the BJP, 24-32 for the Congress, none for the AAP and others getting 1-3 seats.
The Zee News-BARC poll predicted 35-40 seats for the BJP, 20-25 for the Congress, 0-3 for the AAP and 1-5 for the others in the hill state.
The results of the exit poll came out after the conclusion of the second phase of the polls in Gujarat on Monday. The first phase of voting in Gujarat was held on December 1. The results for both states will be announced on December 8.
