‘Bitcoin Family’ takes drastic measures to protect yourself in the midst of crypto kidnappings

A family that has bet all their life Bitcoin has taken extreme measures to protect themselves and their digital assets in the middle of an alarming chain of crypto kidnappings.

Didi Taihuttu, his Roman wife and their three daughters qualified as “bitcoin family” To live only cryptocurrency since 2017.

Before Bitcoin takes off, Didi sold everything his family had – toys from his children at their 2,500 square feet house – to move to a campsite in the The Netherlands And continue to buy assets.

Now the family has their unconventional but glamorous online daily newspapers, showing their tens of thousands of followers the advantages of a “unwavering” lifestyle when traveling around the world.

But a multitude of abductions and murders of eminent cryptography leaders have shaken the family, encouraging them to adopt a new drastic storage model for their coveted cryptographic codes.

They not only abandoned hardware portfolios – physical devices used to secure offline cryptography keys – but have opted for a complex security method that sounds directly from a spy film.

The family has spent the last eight months hiding metal cards engraved with dispersed cryptographic codes on four continents.

Other parts of these seed sentences – recovery passwords for their crypto portfolios – are stored via encryption services, Didi explained to CNBC From Phuket, Thailand.

“We have changed everything,” said the 47 -year -old father at the point of sale. “Even if someone held me under the threat of a weapon, I cannot give them more than what is on my wallet on my phone. And it’s not much.

The 24 -words cryptographic keys were divided into four six -words segments. Each part of these passwords is stored in another country or fixed digitally via an offline platform.

Hidden from around the world are inscribed in metal maps using a hammer and stamping tool, CNBC reported.

“Even if someone finds 18 of the 24 words, he can do nothing,” said Didi at the point of sale.

Didi even exchanged some of the sentences to reject the attackers, which means that he must remember those he has changed to recover his funds.

The family of five portfolios still has “hot” wallets, which are private keys to devices connected to the Internet, for everyday purchases and trading.

However, these portfolios require several signatures and authentications before a transaction is processed.

“It’s a strange world right now,” said Didi to CNBC. “So we take our own precautions – and with regard to wallets, we are now completely without wallet. We no longer use material portfolios.

About 65% of the family’s cryptocurrency is locked up on the four continents.

Didi believes that this dispersed system is safer than to make everything secure in one place.

He said that companies responsible for protecting cryptographic codes could not always trust.

“What happens if one of these companies goes bankrupt?” Will I still have access? You put your capital back in someone else’s hands, “he said.

Didi can add currency to the portfolios without the codes but should move internationally to access the crypto.

These stored funds are part of his long-term pension plan, he revealed to CNBC.

With regard to crypto trading, Didi also adopted the decentralized approach and mainly opts for exchanges via platforms such as Apex, which allow transactions between individuals without intermediary.

Aside from the logistics of the storage, safety and trading of the family of the family, Didi shared that his family took a step back from their renowned online to preserve their safety.

“It’s really my passion for creating content. This is really what I like to do every day, “he said.

“But if it’s no longer sure for my daughters … I really need to think about it.”

His concerns relating to her daughters stem from a painful incident in Paris last month.

The 34 -year -old daughter of a crypto chief and her child were almost removed by three armed men.

The group tried to force her, she and her toddler, in a white van after hitting the child’s father, who tried to intervene.

While he was beaten, the father seemed to shout: “Help! She is pregnant!

The cries of the victims finally drew attention, which led the attackers to flee in their van.

“We have become a little famous in a niche market – but this niche becomes a very large market now,” said Didi at the point of sale.

“And I think we will see more and more these flights. So yes, we will definitely jump France.

Badiss Mohammed Bajjou (photo), 24, was sought by the French authorities for a series of crypto kidnappings

This week, a French man suspected of a series of kidnappings targeting cryptocurrency entrepreneurs in France was arrested in Morocco.

The fears of the taihuttus occur while multiple high -level figures in the kingdom of cryptography have been brutally attacked and killed.

Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, 24, was wanted by the French authorities and has been the subject of a RED interpol opinion for “arrest, removal, false imprisonment or arbitrary detention of a hostage”.

Bajjou is suspected of being involved in the abduction of the boss of French cryptography David Balland and his partner, according to the French daily Le Parisien.

Balland co-founded the Ledger cryptocurrency company, which was assessed at more than a billion dollars at the time.

His finger was cut by his kidnappers, who demanded a heavy ransom for his freedom.

In addition, Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, an Italian Bitcoin investorwould have been kidnapped and tortured in a townhouse in New York last month.

The self -proclaimed cryptographic king of Kentucky, John Woeltz, and his trading partner, William Duplesie, would have seriously defeated, drugged and shocked the victim with electric wires.
