Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean and Gavin DeGraw among inauguration artists

The inauguration festivities for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are taking shape as the (almost) final list of events, performers and attendees has been released by the committee.

Carrie Underwood, confirmed earlier this week to sing “America the Beautiful,” which surprised some fans, will have plenty of company from the country music world when she arrives in Washington, D.C. Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean, Lee Greenwood, Parker McCollum and Rascal Flatts are booked to take the stage, either at one of the three official inaugural balls or at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally. (There are a number of unofficial balls and inauguration events in and around Washington this weekend.)

Gavin DeGraw, whose work straddles pop, rock and country and is perhaps best known for his album hits Tank like the A tree hill The anthem “I Don’t Want to Be” will be performed at the Starlight Ball. Monday’s event will also include remarks from President Trump. News of DeGraw’s participation was met with criticism from some of his fans, so much so that his name was a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

The Village People spoke directly to their fans by revealing that they would be attending the inauguration. The group, whose classic hit “YMCA” has long been an anthem of the LGBTQ community and one of Trump’s favorite anthems at countless rallies and events, released a statement Monday. “We know this won’t please some of you, but we believe music should be played without regard to politics,” the band shared on Facebook. The group is booked for two events including the MAGA Victory Rally and the Liberty Ball. “Our song, ‘YMCA,’ is a global anthem that we hope will help bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign in which our favorite candidate lost.” (The endorsement refers to their support for defeated Democratic candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris.)

Other names are perhaps less surprising, like that of Kid Rock, a longtime Trump supporter. Greenwood became a familiar face during Trump’s election campaign by performing “God Bless the USA” at several events. Of his impending trip to Washington, the veteran singer said he “can’t wait” to take the stage at the U.S. Capitol and perform live with the U.S. Marine Corps Band before the president does not take the oath of office. “Americans obviously love him for the way he was elected,” Greenwood said. Fox and friends.

“The 60th inauguration will mark the triumphant return of President Trump to the White House and the beginning of the great American comeback. These special events will honor the rich history and traditions of our great nation, the American people, and the promise our country holds for future generations. We look forward to celebrating with all of you in Washington, DC – and ushering in a new golden era of strength, success and common sense in the Oval Office,” said Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee Co-Chairs Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler. , in a joint statement.
