Bill Skarsgard says upcoming Nosferatu role evoked a demon in him

Bill Skarsgard says audiences may not be ready to see him in Nosferatu. The actor said this week that his role in the upcoming remake of Robert Eggers’ silent vampire film “took a toll.”

Skarsgard will play Count Orlok, the vampire antagonist. His costume and makeup have been kept secret, but Skarsgard says he’s not sure audiences will recognize him. “He’s disgusting,” he said of the character. “But it’s very sexualized. It’s about playing with a sexual fetish about monster power and what that appeal has for you. I hope this will attract you a little and that your attraction will disgust you at the same time.

Eggers told the outlet that he was regularly impressed by Skarsgard’s dedication to the character’s evil. “I remember at first, (Skarsgard) tried to talk to me about what it meant to be a dead wizard – and I’m into some pretty heavy occult shit, but he was on a different level,” she said. -he declares. “I was like, ‘That seems right, but I don’t know how to speak about it fluently.’”

Skarsgard’s dedication to horror extends beyond Eggers’ most recent film. He played the terrifying clown in He and the bad guy in John Wickand will soon appear in The crow this summer. The actor, however, said he had long dreamed of working with Eggers. “You have a crush on someone – you can’t stop thinking about that person. I only had it a few times, but it was so true with Robert,” he said. “It was like, ‘Whatever this guy does, I just want to be a part of whatever he does.'”
