Bill Maher slammed college-age protesters as performative publicity seekers, warning them that “nobody likes you,” in a scathing review of his HBO show.
The comic and pundit slammed the protesters, who have wreaked havoc among the “normies” with demonstrations on main roads and university campuses, calling them damaging to their own cause.
He called the Palestinian keffiyeh the modern equivalent of the Che Guevara T-shirt and scorned their “cosplaying revolutionaries” while disrupting the lives of those who must work for a living.
“Hey, if it makes you feel good to cosplay as revolutionaries. Knock yourself out. Burn yourself. Just don’t drag Gaza into it,” he said on Real Time with Bill Maher.
“Also, throwing stuff on the boards is just stupid. No one sees mashed potatoes on a Monet and thinks he’s right, I should recycle my cans.

Protesters have repeatedly targeted major bridges and highways, causing chaos in city centers since the protests began.
Maher joked that the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf, seen here on UCLA students, is today’s equivalent of Che Guevara’s T-shirt.
The 68-year-old previously clashed with guest Don Lemon who appeared alongside NYU professor Scott Galloway, after the former CNN host complained about living “in uncomfortable spaces all the time” .
“What do you mean uncomfortable spaces?” » » asked Maher.
Lemon responded, “I’m often the only person of color in the room. »
“There are only three of us,” Maher pointed out.
The exchange sparked a reaction from Caitlyn Jenner who tweeted: “Good on you, Bill Maher.
“Don is a privileged and wealthy celebrity (not to mention entitled, i.e. demands to X and CNN in supposed contract terms). Surpass yourself.’
But Maher reserved his most scathing remarks for those protesting Israel’s war in Gaza, denouncing them as ignorant and misguided – dubbing New York’s Columbia State University “Kanye State.”

“I’m not saying there aren’t sincere passions about Gaza, particularly among the people of the region, but the social justice warriors, for many of them, it seems like it’s more a matter of fight than cause.
Classes are resuming online at Columbia University in New York after protesters took over the university grounds.
Columbia is among dozens of universities that have been swept aside by protests between Israel and Hamas, while other prestigious universities, including Harvard and MIT, have been plunged into chaos.
There were more road protests in Washington Saturday evening before the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

Among those who have joined the ranks of jobless protesters are the 28 Google employees who were fired earlier this month for participating in a protest at the company’s offices in New York and California.
“Maybe if these Google employees had any idea what kind of fundamentalist, oppressive assholes they support – Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard – they could be a little more Gentle towards the world’s greatest monster, Genocide Joe,’ he said.
“Genocide, moreover, is when you want to wipe out an entire people. This is Hamas’ stated objective. This is what From River to Sea means. Hamas would do this to Israel, but it cannot. Israel could do this to them, but it doesn’t.
“You know how you can find out?” Google it!’
And he mocked American aviator Aaron Bushnell, 25, who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington in February to protest American involvement in Israel’s assault on Gaza.
“In his last Facebook post, he said: “Many of us like to ask ourselves: What would I do if I were alive during slavery? » Maher remarked.
“Interesting question about the cocktail, sir. And I guess the right answer is to kill myself.
“But it wouldn’t have really solved the problem if General Ulysses S. Grant had set himself on fire and his last words had been, ‘Hey, Lincoln, are you using that diary?’
“And then last week, another sad, confused man set himself on fire during the Trump trial in New York.
“So you can say to yourself that you’re a martyr for the Palestinian cause, but it’s a lot less special when the next guy does it for Stormy Daniels.”
He questioned why protesters were not targeting repressive regimes, including China, North Korea and Myanmar, rather than the United States’ ally in the Middle East.
And he warned that protesters would never gain allies among the American public by disrupting their lives.
“Someone needs to tell the people who block traffic in the name of a cause, no one likes you. And you’re probably hurting your cause,” he insisted.
“In case you haven’t seen what’s been happening lately, activists for ending the war in Gaza have been gathering on roads and bridges and preventing commuters from crossing.
“This happened last week in New York and San Francisco. Chicago, Seattle. They also blocked traffic here on the 405, but no one noticed.
Police attempts to remove and arrest protesters, such as here at Northeastern University, have been thwarted by the return of protesters to open spaces.

“What they noticed was this: You have to be pretty stupid to think that the best way to get people to share your point of view is to make them late to pick up their kids from daycare.
“And that’s what most normies think. I have a child, I have a job. And yes, I’m sure there are injustices on both sides in the Middle East as there are everywhere in the world, but I’m going to be late for work.
“Something you, the protesters on the bridge, seem to have the luxury of not having to worry about, which seems like a privilege of sorts.
“You can stick your hands to the street because your hands don’t need to work today.”
