Comedian Bill Burr is excited about all the self-proclaimed wildfire experts spouting opinions about Los Angeles on the Internet. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel live Last night, Burr said that even though he had to evacuate his house, he felt lucky.
“Everyone is doing a great job,” Burr said before adding, “unlike the Internet.” Oh my God, all these “fire experts”. (Using an obnoxious, know-it-all voice, Burr continued) “Why don’t you just fly a helicopter into the ocean?” I don’t know, maybe because of the 100 knot winds… you’re fucking crazy.
Again mocking the know-it-alls, Burr said in a Cliff Clavin voice, “This was definitely mishandled,” adding in his own voice, “As if some fucking idiot on the Internet knows how to handle worst fire in LA, sitting there in my underwear. “You know, looking at the images on the Internet, I determined that this was mishandled.” If you’re on the Internet, you know anything.
Burr also spoke of his misguided confidence in his previous purchase of a helicopter for quick escapes. “I didn’t realize how expensive helicopters were, so all I have is a two-seater,” he told Kimmel, “and I didn’t want to have to make the choice of Sophie with my family, so we all piled into the SUV like everyone else.
Burr then ventured into riskier territory. “They’re talking about looting, but CNN and Fox News are not going to talk about insurance companies that are just going to maintain everyone’s premiums while giving themselves bonuses.” Then shouting “Free Luigi!” “, Burr said he “liked the way they all acted surprised” by the shooting death of an insurance executive by suspected killer Luigi Mangione. “I like the way they acted surprised,” Burr said, “like, ‘Uh, why did that happen?’ He wrote on the balls why it happened!
“Oh, we’re coming back to Luigi,” Kimmel interjected.
“I never left Luigi’s side,” Burr said.
