Announcing it at a press conference, he said the bill would be presented “within 20 days of the formation of the new government”.
“The NDA could not provide jobs to the youth in 20 years. We will bring the law within 20 days of coming to power, and its implementation will be ensured in 20 months,” the former deputy chief minister said.
“I had also promised government jobs during the last parliamentary elections. During my brief tenure in power, five million jobs were created. You can imagine what would have been possible if I had got a five-year term,” the 35-year-old leader said.
Yadav, who is seen as the Indian bloc’s de facto candidate for chief minister, has repeatedly called Nitish Kumar’s government a “copycat”, noting that several populist moves in recent months appeared to draw inspiration from the RJD leader’s previous election promises.

Vowing not to be fooled, Yadav, who is often touted as the most preferred chief ministerial candidate in opinion polls, had earlier said he would speak further about his agenda for Bihar “only after the polls are announced”, and the ruling NDA was left constrained by the model code of conduct.
Recently, the government provided 125 units of free electricity per month to consumers, waived examination fees for candidates, introduced a “home quota” for reserved seats for women, and increased social security pensions.
About a week before the elections were announced, the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’ was launched, under which ₹$10,000 each was given to over a million women in the state through direct cash transfer.
This program, introduced to encourage entrepreneurship among women, has been decried by critics as an attempt to “bribe” voters before the election.
Yadav, however, refused to answer questions on the fluid political situation, with issues such as seat-sharing and formal declaration of a chief ministerial candidate.
“Today’s press conference has been called to make this big announcement. If there are any questions on this, I am ready to answer them. For other questions, we will talk about it later,” Yadav said.
