Bihar Elections 2025: Jan Suraaj party’s first list includes mathematician, singer and former RJD member

Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor on Thursday (October 9) released the first list of candidates for his party Jan Suraaj. Comprising 51 people, the list includes prominent personalities from Bihar, including a former RJD member, a mathematician and a famous singer, among others.

The list also includes several professionals, retired bureaucrats, social workers, among others, in line with his earlier announcements that his party would field and favor such names. However, suspense persists over Prashant Kishor’s seat.

Mathematician KC Sinha

Mathematician KC Sinha is one of the most prominent names on the list. He is going to contest from Kumhrar constituency of Patna Mahanagar. He previously served as vice-chancellor of Patna University. He is also the author of more than 70 books.

Ex-RJD MLC Rambali Chandravanshi

He is a former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLC, having joined the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) last year. He will fight from Kurtha, according to Indian Express. He is said to have organized community outreach programs for JSP and hailed from the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) group.

Ex-IPS Jai Prakash Singh

Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Jai Prakash Singh was also nominated by the party. The 2000-year-old batch officer will contest for the Chhapra seat. He was reportedly active in popular politics in Bihar since last year and took voluntary retirement.

Lawyer Yadu Vansh Giri

The party has also nominated Yadu Vansh Giri, senior advocate at the Patna High Court, as its candidate from Manjhi constituency. He served as Additional Solicitor General of Bihar and Additional Solicitor General of India for Central Government cases in the Patna High Court.

Singer Ritesh Ranjan Pandey

The party also announced the name of famous Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Ranjan Pandey. He will contest from Kargahar constituency.

The Siege of Kishor

The suspense over Prashant Kishor’s seat persists as it was earlier suspected that he would contest from Kargahar, which is his home constituency.

However, he is now expected to contest from Raghopur constituency, which is an RJD stronghold.
