Bihar Election 2025: Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj releases 2nd list; Check the names of the candidates presented

Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party released the second list for the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections on October 13.

The JSP had released its first list of 51 candidates for the Bihar elections on October 9. With 65 candidates named on the list. A total of 116 candidates were fielded by the party for the elections. However, Kishor’s name remained missing from both the lists, leading to speculation over his candidacy in the elections.

Uday Singh, the party’s national president, made the announcement at a press conference held at the Sheikhpura House in Patna.

Prominent candidates in the Bihar Assembly elections include Dirgh Narayan Prasad from Valmikinagar, Kunal Nishad from Pranpur in Katihar, Rampravesh Kumar Yadav from Nirmali in Supaul, Usha Kiran from Surasand and Sunil Kumar from Loria, among others.

Kishor is expected to begin his election campaign on October 11 in Raghopur, the constituency of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. “We will soon release a list of candidates for other seats. If you find Kishor Ji’s name in the list, then he will be a candidate. It is very clear. Kishor Ji will launch the party’s election campaign from Raghopur on October 11,” Singh added.

In an interview last month, Kishor indicated that he might also contest the next election. “Deliberations are going on within the party, and if a collective decision is taken that I too enter the fray, then, as I also said in this interview, it will be Kargahar or Raghopur,” he said.

During the interview, he said that Kargahar, which falls under Sasaram Lok Sabha seat in Rohtas district, was his ‘janmbhoomi’ and Raghopur ‘is my ‘karmabhoomi’, just like the rest of Bihar.

Bihar Assembly polls

The state will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the counting of votes will take place on November 14. Of the 243 seats in the state, voting for 121 constituencies will be held on November 6, while voting for the remaining 122 constituencies is scheduled for November 11.
