On October 19, the party released a third list including six additional candidates, bringing the total number of Congress candidates to 59.
Earlier, state Congress chief Rajesh Ram had accused RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of “changing his stance” and “undermining” the coalition.
“He came to the AICC meeting with KC Venugopal as a cooperative ally, but his subsequent actions indicate that he is working against the deal,” Ram said, according to a Hindustan Times report. He further alleged that Tejashwi Yadav was weakening the representation of Dalits in the alliance.
Reports suggest that the Congress, in an attempt to resolve the seat-sharing issue, has signaled to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav that contesting certain seats could weaken the alliance’s unity narrative.
Polling for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
