An object that decides the fate of two NPCs!
If you want to complete the Fire Knight Queelign or Jolan questline while receiving some of the best rewards, you need to know the locations, uses, and choices of Elden Ring NPCs Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation.
For players who don’t know, the Iris of Grace and the Iris of Obfuscation are two key items and consumables in Elden Ring that play a vital role in deciding which rewards you will receive from the NPC Jolan and the Knight of Fire Queelign at the end of their quest.
In this guide, we share the location of the Elden Ring DLC Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation in the Shadow of the Erdtree and all the NPC choices associated with them.
Elden Ring Iris of Grace Locations
In Elden Ring, you can find Iris of Grace in front of a stone desk in a hallway in the Specimen Storehouse area.
To get there, teleport to the warehouse, first floor grace site and stay on the left side while moving straight ahead.
You will come across an elevator that you will need to take to descend to the lower levels of the Specimen Warehouse. Once out of the elevator, follow the path on the right and continue moving forward.
At the end of the room, turn left, use the stairs to go down, then turn left again and again as soon as you enter the infirmary-like area full of enemies experimenting with the pot.
Just before the giant experimental creature inside, you’ll find the Iris of Grace.
That aside, you can find another one in front of the Marika Statue, near the Tree Worship Shrine Grace Site.
Elden Ring Occultation Iris Locations
You can obtain the Iris of Occultation by defeating the Little Omenkiller in the lower section of Hold of Reprimand in the Scadu Altus region of the Realm of Shadows.
To get there, from the Moorth Ruins Grace Site, stay to the right side and follow the main path. Soon you will reach the Fort of Reprimand.
Once you enter the fort, defeat the Little Omenkiller in the courtyard or turn left and go down the hole. All around, the other horned enemy is present, which must be defeated to obtain the Iris of Occultation.
Another Iris of Occultation is obtained after defeating the Spirit of the Lesser Ulcerated Tree which appears after purifying the water in the Church district.
Elden Ring Iris of Grace and Iris of Occultation use
Both are consumable items in Elden Ring that you can consume to receive the blessing of an equipped Great Rune, much like a Rune Bow, although we do not recommend consuming them as it is required in a few NPC questlines .
Both items are associated with two NPC questlines: Fire Knight Queelign and Jolan.
- Fire Knight Queeligne
- Give Grace Iris: Drops Ash Spirit from Fire Knight Queelign
- Gives the Iris of Cloaking: drops the Greatsword of Queelign
- Jolane
- Give Iris of Grace: Drops Spirit Ash from Jolan Handhand of Night
- Give Iris of Concealment: drops the Night Sword
Which should you choose?
As we mentioned earlier, the Iris of Grace can be used to obtain the Spirit Ashes of the Fire Knight Queenlign and Jolan. Although the Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash can be transformed into an upgraded version by introducing Anna, another Sword Hand, the overall effectiveness of the Spirit Ash is okay.
Existing Spirit Ash like Black Knife Tiche and Mimic Tear are still some of the best Spirit Ash to use in the game.
On the other hand, if you give Cloak to Jolan and Fire Knight Queelign, you get their weapons, which we think is a much better choice than the Spirit Ash.
However, the choice depends on you and your needs. While it’s easy to choose between Iris of Grace or Iris of Occultation for Fire Knight Queelign, for Jolan, players might be tempted to opt for Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash to accommodate Anna so they can both be together.
