Biden’s border policy pits American babies against migrant infants: Andrew ‘Art’ Arthur

The Biden administration’s botched border insurance policies are creating a “zero-sum dilemma” that pits American babies against migrant infants in detention due to nationwide component shortages, a senior U.S. official said Friday. immigration to the Post.

Photos of dozens of bins of children’s components at a migrant processing facility near the US-Mexico border sparked outrage Thursday as some Republican lawmakers accused the federal government of ‘stockpiling’ the product for illegal immigrants .

Even as American mom and dad struggle to get their hands on components for their babies, the administration may also be legally obligated to feed and care for those it has amassed into its custody at the border, including migrant infants, famous consultants.

“‘Zero-sum’ is actually one of the simplest ways to explain this,” Andrew “Art” Arthur, regulatory and policy researcher at the Center for Immigration Studies, told The Post.

“It is a zero-sum dilemma between the needs of infants and their parents in [Department of Homeland Security] border guard against the needs of infants and their parents in the United States.

Arthur said failure to stop the movement of immigrants across the border is contributing to the baby formula crisis — and it’s only expected to get worse when the Biden administration lifts Title 42, a health regulation by Trump-era set up that allowed migrants to be turned back at the US border to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Representative Kat Cammack released photographs showing pallets of children’s meals believed to be at a migrant processing centre.

“DHS needs to stockpile massive amounts of infant formula to support infants who are currently in CBP custody and in anticipation of a massive wave of new illegal migrants that will surge across the border once the CDC orders release. deportation of illegal migrants,” said Arthur.

“The Biden administration’s failure to enact policies to deter illegal migrants — and especially migrant family units, or FMUs — is the reason for both the drug spike and why DHS must buy formula as supply dwindles in the United States.”

On Thursday, Florida GOP Rep. Kat Cammack urged Americans to force the administration to raise Title 42 given the influx of migrants, including children, who are expected to end up in detention at the expiry.

“Call your Democratic members of Congress and tell them you want them to pressure the administration to keep Title 42 in place, to take the baby formula that they’ve basically siphoned off from the supply chain and put it back in the damn stores for American kids,” she said on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Indiana Republican Representative Jim Banks sent a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra asking to know how many components the government had purchased for migrants in recent months.

“No matter where they come from or what their nationality is, no child deserves to suffer from a lack of food. America is the greatest, most compassionate, and most generous country in the world,” Banks said in a follow-up statement.

“When the violent cartel coyotes, inspired by the Biden administration, smuggle babies across our open border, we will not allow them to go hungry.

“However, the American people struggling to feed their children deserve to know how much formula milk was purchased by the Biden administration in response to the worst border crisis in history – a disaster of the Democrats’ own making.”
